Author of The Monkey’s Mask (made into film) and now another crime-thriller El Dorado, Dorothy Porter is one of Australia's most maverick and versatile poets. According to the Weekend Australian, her new verse novel El Dorado sold 4,000 copies in the first month. And if that’s not all, wait until you catch her libretto The Eternity Man made into film by Channel 4 UK/ABC TV, directed by Britain’s Julien Temple (best known for his Sex Pistols film “The Filth & The Fury”).

Dorothy Porter is the author of Driving Too Fast, Crete, Other Worlds, Akhenaten, What a Piece of Work, and Wild Surmise. The Monkey’s Mask won the Age Book of the Year, National Book Council Award, and the Braille Book of the Year for poetry.

As a festival highlight, WA Poets Inc. proudly brings you ‘An Afternoon with Dorothy Porter’ with a talk, reading, Q&A time, plus book signing in the State Library Theatre, Alexander Library Building, Perth on Sunday 14th October at 1.00pm.
