Event report backs: Town of Cambridge Sustainable Lifestyles Festival...

The good bit: Some great contacts were made, people ran the stall on a
Sunday, and it was really hot day.

One contact was some teachers from the Montersori school who are
interested in doing School outreach with us. This is a great thing for
ASEN people to get off the ground.

The bad bit: This even was really token as far as I could tell, in the
sence that the venue was an oval... not much practical 'sustainability'
going on there... Also, the Water Corp had these big flags fluttering in
front of our stall (highly traumatic for me) so, an action took place with
some sticker-ing 'save yarragadee' Not much fuss caused.

Working Group report backs:

Food: Our foodie working group mumma is heading out to the desert on a crazy mission for a month, so there is some work to do while beetroot mumma is away.

This includes:
* Checking out the kitchens
* Talking to the cityfarm organic growers and putting in orders for winter
crops
* Talking to the crew at 'Source Foods' to get some help with orders and
quantities for ethical, local, organic suppliers.
* Getting our letter to wickid chefs out to people we think would like to
be guest chef for a day at SoS - great publicity and great opportunity to
do community work. Get it out there!

Support Letter: check it out: it's on the list.

Venue Leason: A few problems with UWA getting all cold on us because of
problems with SoS in Brizzy... It was mentioned at the meeting that we
really need to get the deal sealed in the next 2 weeks at the very most.
Do the Venue leason crew need a hand? Please email the list if it seems we
can't get a sealed deal in two weeks. The problem with not having things
finalised, is that a lot of our organisation is waiting for a 100% yes on
the venue. Lets put this thing to sleep and get on with the fun.

Organising With Indigenous People: going well, our minutes are going up on
the webpage, so you guys are able to follow whats going on there.

Bikes: Rocking ON! 100 bikes to be constructed for SoS for people to get
around the city. Workshops on Wednesday Arvos and Sundays Old bikes and bike parts wanted! Contact Tim on 0420225059 or timhemsley@hotmail.com

Food Not Boms Awareness evenings... It was proposed that there be films
and Food not Bombs at cityfarm after the Monday meeting. The proposal is
that people take turns cooking a meal and then we share the meal after the
meeting and watch a film to inspire/educate/tune out and relax...
I will see how people feel about the proposal at the next meeting. People
are really getting really tired and I fully understand that one more thing
could be too much...

Grants: The greats crew need to get together and get writing... and ASEN
National have a grant writer to help proof drafts.

International speakers: The working group have set areas of interest;
refer to the webpage - and the SoS organisers have agreed to the themes!
The International speakers crew are going to get back to the SoS crew
about who will be funding international flights.
It was noted that the working with Indig Crew are doing their own
fundraising for invited guests.

Consensus Model: There was decent to having a double consensus model with
a provision of an 80% majority vote in the extreme case of people not
being able to come to a fillal desicion. Will get back to the next
meeting with another proposal for the vote option. The decent comes into
it because there is the danger of dismissing minority perspectives if
there is a vote...

Conflict resolution workshops with the wonderful anti-nuclear, peace
campaigner, Jo Valentine. The proposed dates are April 2, 16, 30 at 7pm
for 1-1.5 hours.

Printers and Print policy: Could we please get the flier for the next gig to me by mid week at thevery latest, so as to not damage our contract any more ; ) We are kinda a
business: yes an amorphus, eclectic kind of.

Webpage: We now have content from the working with Indig Crew, the Feeding
Crew working group, the International Speakers working group... and no one
else. GET YOUR BLOG IN! People need to know what is going on, so get blogging

See you next Monday. Have a great weekend. Get agenda items to the loop
asap and I will get the start of the next agenda together. Appologies on
the late minutes.
