SoS 2007 Meeting minutes 5/2/07 City Farm

Town of Cambridge
-are having a sustainable lifestyle festival March 18?
-will supply (50?) hemp bags for us to screenprint
-we need to do a sustainability logo for them
-have agreed to do promotional stuff for us and trial workshops
-we are having a stall at the festival and need to fill out a feedback

SoS needs media contacts for the conference??? (please contact the collective to be a media person!
Grants
-Federal Gov is offering one to volunteer enviro groups
-ArtsWA grant, applications are due soon and the money is received in July
Strategic plan- who, when due by, what?-shows all the things we need to plan and do and when by???
Workshop
-on which kind of consensus decision making we want to use and how we want the group to operate (eg. Hand signals).
-after the group makes a choice someone will explain it to everyone else (and I imagine ask for consensus as this as our mode of operation).
-people are happy for it to be after the Monday meeting, which would be 6:30pm, City Farm.
Generally people are free weekdays after 5pm.
O’day stalls
Murdoch, UWA, Curtin, ECU.
Money for artists
-need people to be available on call but everyone is invited to participate in SoS art
-Group agreed to proposal of $500 for web designer and $250 to pay an artist/designer/promo person.
Flyer details: short description of SoS. Specify that its not just for uni students.
Includes tree planting, international speakers. Is a DIY conference with lots of music
SoS Theme
-think about a theme, what it means and if we need one

Sustainable transport booklet

International Speakers
-anyone can suggest people to research to the group
-the speakers will not be approved until brought back to main group
-Possible funding from Greenpeace, the Wilderness Society and other NGO’s
Toilets
-Possible composting toilets
-UWA would probably not approve shit pits
-waste management working group: who want to join
Sunfair fundraiser
-sunfair is putting on a fundraiser at the Bakery to fund an enviro thing
-put in application: Due ASAP
SoS rego forms

Bikes
-want 100 bikes for SoS delegates to ride around the uni and Perth
-need storage and workshop area
-Store bikes at City Farm
-once got a space then put a call-out for bikes/parts
